About DotsDashes

DotsDashes starts with Morse code tools: turn text into dots and dashes, read a written signal, and listen to or save its sound. Our aim is to make these tasks straightforward on a phone as well as a desktop.

Tools and scope

The current tools are a Morse code translator, an audible alphabet chart and a WAV audio generator. Each tool states its supported characters and limits. Chinese characters, recording transcription and the full set of procedural signals are not currently supported.

Standards and verification

Mappings and standard spacing are based on ITU-R M.1677-1. Conversion, playback and export share the same mappings and timing. Unsupported input is reported explicitly. These tools are intended for learning and creative work, not emergency communication.
